? Nine Brooklyn bus riders were rushed to the hospital Friday and firefighters say the incident started with a plastic bag.
Authorities say a plastic bag got caught in the engine of an MTA bus during rush hour at the corner of Avenue J and East 35th St. The engine started to smoke, causing an extinguisher system to go off on the bus. The passengers were evacuated and some were treated at the hospital.
Officials say at least nine people suffered smoke inhalation and other respiratory-related problems from the incident.
