A man who was stopped by police in Bridgeport led officers on a pursuit that ended with his arrest on I-95, police say.
Police say three people, including Curtis Dwayne Gibbs, were involved in an altercation at a gas station on Park Avenue around 11:20 a.m. Friday. During the altercation, a firearm was discharged but no one was injured.
City officials could not confirm if Gibbs was the person who discharged the weapon.
Later that day, around 2:45 p.m. Gibbs was pulled over near Norman and State streets, but he refused to get out of the vehicle and ignored directions from police. Police say Gibbs then took off and led police on a pursuit in the city and onto I-95 north, according to authorities.
Milford police and state police assisted with stopping the vehicle at Exit 41.
Gibbs faces several charges including interfering with officers, reckless driving, engaging police in pursuit and assault on an officer.
His bond is set at $60,000.
