Officials say a 6-year-old boy is dead and a 7-year-old girl is in critical condition after being stabbed on Schenck Ave.
Police say they are looking for a suspect described as a heavy-set black male in his 30s.
The incident happened just before 6 p.m.
The latest attack comes just two days after a teenage girl was brutally stabbed to death a few blocks at the corner of Linwood Street and Stanley Avenue.
