Police say one man was killed and another was injured in a shooting that occurred in Tremont Saturday morning.

Police say they responded to a 911 call reporting the shooting of a man at the intersection of East 179th Street and Mapes Avenue just after 3 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers say they found a 34-year-old man with gunshot wounds all over his body. He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The NYPD says a 33-year-old man was also shot in the arm. He is recovering in a hospital and expected to be OK, according to police.

Authorities have yet to confirm the identity of either victim. Police ask anyone with information about the shooting to contact 1-800-577-TIPS.
