A 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the leg at the Coney Island Stillwell Avenue station, police say.

The incident happened between Stillwell and Surf avenues around 8 a.m.

Police say the victim was on board a D train when he got into a verbal dispute with three teens. Things escalated and became physical, and the victim was stabbed with a sharp object.

News 12 is told that the 16-year-old was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.

The three teens headed northbound on Neptune Avenue.

No arrests have been made. Police are still investigating what may have led up to the incident.
