The NYPD has confirmed that a 17-year-old boy was shot across the street from Lincoln High School on Friday.
This marks the second teen shot this week near a school.
Police say the victim is expected to survive a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Shots were fired on Ocean Parkway right near Lincoln High School, where police say the victim goes to school.
They are currently searching for a male who was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, black pants and a black backpack.
Community advocates said Friday that this is unacceptable.
“It’s the second day of school. One child is dead on Wednesday… now we have this young man shot the second day of school,” said Mona Davids, co-founder of the NYC School Safety Coalition. “Enough is enough.”
Police have not made any arrests at this time.
