A 17-year-old is fighting for his life after being shot in the head overnight in East Flatbush, police say.

Police say the shooting happened just after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday at 1402 Brooklyn Ave., near the corner of New York Avenue. According to investigators, the teen was rushed to Kings County Hospital in critical condition.

Officers spent hours overnight searching for evidence around the apartment complex. Citizen video captured police canvassing the grounds, where several shell casings were found.

Police are now looking for three masked men who fled westbound toward New York Avenue. Investigators believe the suspects and the victim did not know each other.

The investigation is still ongoing.
