Authorities say two people are dead following a wrong-way crash on the Belt Parkway early Tuesday morning.
According to the NYPD, a man operating a black Infinity drove eastbound down the westbound lane on the Belt Parkway just before 1 a.m.
Police say the black Infinity sideswiped other vehicles before it crashed into a black Nissan, near Rockaway Parkway’s Exit 11.
Both drivers were taken to Brookdale Hospital where they died. Traffic on the Belt Parkway remained backed up for several hours as police tried to clean up the damage.
It is not clear whether the driver of the Infinity was under the influence.
