Police say two men were killed in two separate shootings hours apart in East New York.
Officers found 37-year-old Dustin Jackson with gunshot wounds to the torso near Vermont Street and Livonia Avenue at around 2:30 a.m. Saturday. He was transported to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say multiple shots were fired, hitting a parked car and a second-floor window of a nearby senior living facility. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
Authorities say Jackson lived on Bradford Street just a few blocks away from there.
They say the shooting marked the second homicide within the 75th Precinct in Brooklyn and the fourth around the city in 24 hours.
A few hours earlier, police say 22-year-old Stashun Thomas was found with gunshot wounds to the torso and right arm on Hegeman Avenue just before 9:30 p.m. He was also taken to Brookdale Hospital and pronounced dead.
It is unknown whether the two shootings are related, and police have made no arrests.
