The NYPD says two men were stabbed outside of a gas station 36th and 5th avenues around 9:30 a.m.
Sources close to the investigation say it appeared to be an attempted robbery.
According to police, a 25-year-old man was stabbed in the left arm and a 34-year-old man was stabbed in back and left thigh. Both were transported to the hospital in stable condition.
News 12 spoke with a witness who wanted to remain anonymous, but says he saw it happen.
“Oh my God, he was saying 'I can’t see, I’m cold.' He was losing consciousness," he said.
News 12 spoke with long-time resident Jose Allende who says these incidents are becoming too common.
“Stabbings, shootings, it’s crazy around here. Suddenly it’s not safe and believe me this was the safest place in Brooklyn. It was," said Allende.
Witnesses on the scene told News 12 that someone tried to steal a delivery worker’s scooter.
Police say they are searching for two male suspects wearing a black mask, a black sweater and blue jeans. Police say they fled the scene on a moped. Anyone with information is encouraged to call police.
