Police say a 16-year-old driver and a 15-year-old girl were driving down New Utrecht Avenue on a moped when they collided with a parked car on Bay Ridge Parkway.
A local business owner tells News 12 that surveillance video shows the two kids try to dodge a turning vehicle, causing them to lose control and hit the parked vehicle.
The two teenagers were taken to Maimonides Hospital. Officials say the 16-year-old is in critical condition while the 15-year-old is expected to be OK.
People in the neighborhood called this a scary situation, adding that mopeds need to be off the streets.
"I think they should all be regulated. I don't think they should be sold to underage kids. There's a lot of deaths in these," said Denise Lovin.
