Nearly two dozens dogs were rescued today from two homes in Sheepshead Bay where authorities say the animals had lived in deplorable conditions. According to authorities, a house on Avenue Y was abandoned for years and was being used to breed dogs until neighbors couldn't take the smell anymore and called animal control.Officials say the dog owner, Sustin Kolja, will receive summonses from the Buildings Department and the Board of Health. In addition, the property where the dogs had been housed will be condemned. All of the 23 rescued dogs were taken to an area shelter, where they will be evaluated and examined by a veterinarian. Kolja says he will fight to get his dogs back.
