The Paramus Police Department recently arrested three New York City residents for organized retail theft at the Westfield Garden State Plaza in New Jersey.
Authorities say the trio used distraction techniques to target stores and employees during a crime spree that occurred between 8 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. on April 12.
Officers and mall security apprehended the suspects and recovered almost $13,000 worth of stolen items. Those items included electronics, sunglasses, cosmetics, handbags and clothing.
The suspects have been identified as Andres R. Aguilar-Ceballos, Claudia J. Simosa and Alexander Arias Gudino Kleiber.
Police say Aguilar-Ceballos and Simosa are both from the Bronx. Kleiber is also from New York City.
The three have been charged with multiple offenses, according to authorities. They were remanded to Bergen County Jail as they await legal proceedings.
