The NYPD is searching for a suspect linked to an overnight fatal shooting outside a Bed-Stuy housing complex.
According to investigators, a 32-year-old man was shot multiple times after 11 p.m. at Brevoort Houses on Ralph Avenue just off of Marion Street. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, but he did not survive.
It's still not clear why shots were fired, or if the victim knew the suspect. Police say the suspect was last seen leaving the area on foot.
While NYPD data shows that shootings are down by nearly 10% citywide since the start of the year, the same cannot be said for the neighborhood in the 81st Precinct. This precinct has experienced at least six shootings since March.
