Authorities say a 46-year-old man set himself on fire in Brooklyn Tuesday and now police are searching for his 77-year-old missing mother. 

Police say the man was found near 4547 Bedford Ave. in flames, which were extinguished by the FDNY, according to police. 

They say the man’s mother, 77-year-old Patricia Ventre, lives with him and is currently missing. 

Police say there is no known domestic history between the mother and son at this time. 

The man was previously been arrested for burglary, bribery of a public servant, criminal possession of a controlled substance and violation of local law charges, according to police.
