Police say a 54-year-old man is in critical condition after he was shot in the chest in Bed-Stuy on Wednesday.

It happened at 751 Monroe St., just steps away from a kid's playground and a community garden.

The suspect fled down Patchen Avenue.

Police described him wearing a ski mask, white shirt and khaki pants.
