The NYPD is searching for a driver who struck a 6-year-old walking in Dyker Heights and fled the scene.

Police say the incident took place just after 8 a.m. at the intersection of 13th Avenue and 68th Street.

They say the 6-year-old was crossing 68th Street when they were struck by a 2017 Lexus that was making a left onto that street while traveling north on 13th Avenue.

The operator of the Lexus fled the scene. The 6-year-old child was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to be OK.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact police.
