A 75-year-old woman was struck and killed Wednesday afternoon by a truck driver in Crown Heights.
NYPD officials say the woman was walking through the crosswalk at the intersection of Utica Avenue and Saint John’s Place around 2 p.m. The truck that struck her was headed northbound on Utica Avenue.
Residents say that this intersection is dangerous, and one business owner says he worries about the many blind spots at each corner.
“Its very much a critical intersection with people trying to speed up to the light when it’s about to turn green,” said business owner Kevin Bynoe.
The NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad is still investigating the incident. Officials confirmed the 41-year-old truck driver remained at the scene.
