Police: 78-year-old punched in the face after asking commuter to lower volume on his music

An elderly commuter was injured when he was punched multiple times for asking another commuter to lower his music in Manhattan, officials say.
The incident occurred Thursday at around 3:30 p.m. at the 96th Street and 7th Avenue subway station.
According to the police, a 78-year-old man asked another man on the train playing music through speakers to lower the volume. The man and the woman he was with began punching the elderly victim multiple times in the face.
The victim exited the train and was transported to treatment for sustained bruising and a laceration to his face. He has been listed in stable condition.
Police believe the two suspects got off the train at the 34th Street subway station. No arrests have been made at this time.
