Police: 91-year-old man sitting on Midwood stoop robbed, hit with cane

The victim gave up $4, which led to the suspect demanding more money and hitting the man on the head with a cane, police say.

Police are looking for a man caught on camera attacking a 91-year-old man with a cane in Midwood.
The robbery happened around 6:25 a.m. Monday, when the suspect walked up to the victim, who was sitting on a stoop near East 14th Street and Avenue I and demanded his money.
The victim gave up $4, which led to the suspect demanding more money and hitting the man on the head with a cane, police say. The victim defended himself with his own cane.
The suspect then walked off to a bus stop at Avenue J and East 16th Street, where he boarded an eastbound B6 MTA bus, police say.
The victim suffered head pain and a laceration above the eye. He was taken to Community Hospital in stable condition by Hatzoloh.
Police describe the suspect as a man who walks with a limp and uses a cane.
