NYPD say a man is now recovering after getting shot during an intense police-involved standoff in Manhattan Sunday.
Police recovered a gun from the suspect at the scene. Police say they were responding to a call of shots fired inside Fort Washington Park around 8 p.m. Sunday.
That's when they saw an armed 23-year-old man. Officials say police ordered the man to drop his weapon numerous times in English and Spanish. When he refused, officers fired their guns striking the man in the torso.
The officers are being evaluated as the investigation continues.
