Police officers swarmed the Marlboro Houses Friday afternoon when neighbors say they heard gunshots.
Witnesses say West 11th Street was shut down for more than three hours while police investigated. Neighbors in the area say police officers had the Marlboro Houses on lockdown, preventing tenants from leaving or entering their apartments.
One witness says police arrested at least three men, while stopping and searching several others.
Neighbors say violence in the area has recently increased and they frequently hear gunshots at the apartment complex.
