Police say at least three businesses have been burglarized in Bushwick over the past month.
Chess and the Sphinx on Knickerbocker Avenue is just one of the businesses that was hit in a string of recent burglaries.
The co-owner of the shop calls it an added strain as the business struggles to stay afloat.
A picture released shows the damage to the store's outside glass from back in December when the incident happened. According to a police report, the burglar cut the security gate and then broke the glass window -- taking money and jewelry from inside the vintage clothing shop.
Co-owner Sara Chess says it's the way the burglar broke in that's had the biggest impact, causing more than $2,000 worth of damage - another hit for the business during these hard times.
Pictures from specialty grocer Foster Sundry, also on Knickerbocker Avenue, shows the damage of the store's broken window from a burglary that happened just two weeks ago.
The owner saying the burglar also took cash from inside.
Police say it's not clear if any of the recent burglaries are connected.
No arrests have been made, but police say the investigation is ongoing.
