Police say an old scam is making a comeback in Brooklyn, as thieves impersonating Con Ed workers enter homes and steal valuables.
Police say the thieves target areas where there's construction, allowing them to better blend in. In a security measure, Con Ed has sent out flyers with a likeness of a legitimate ID. The utility company hopes that will help alert residents to fake IDs.
Police are asking anyone with information about the burglaries to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
