Police believe a body pulled from the waters off Long Beach is a missing 75-year-old man.

Long Beach police say they got the call about the missing man from his family at around 7 a.m. Thursday. They say the family last saw him at 3 a.m.

The family says the missing man had medical problems, causing authorities to do an immediate search with Marine and Coast Guard crews.

At around 10:15 a.m., Nassau Marine 6 recovered a body floating in the water near the Magnolia Fishing Pier that fit the description of the missing person.

Fishermen say they were there when they spotted something unusual.

"I saw something floating back there - it was blue - I don't know what it was, and a boat came by and said they were looking for a missing person and it was that body," says Owen Derupo.

Police say the clothing matches that of the missing person, but an official identification has not been released yet as of 5 p.m. They are waiting for the family to identify the body.

Police say there are no immediate signs of foul play.
