Police: Borough Park phone thief uses victim's identity to order Verizon phones

Police say a man was picking up a package at his home before 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 12 when the suspect allegedly told him the Verizon package was sent to him by accident.

The NYPD is asking for help identifying the suspect of a grand larceny in Borough Park.

Police say a man was picking up a package at his home before 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 12 when the suspect allegedly told him the Verizon package was sent to him by accident.

The man then left with the package, which contained cellphones.

The victim later discovered his identity was used to open a Verizon account to order cellphones.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
