Police: Brooklyn man fatally shot at illegal party in Nassau County
A Brooklyn man killed and several others were wounded Monday night during a shooting at an illegal party in Nassau County on Monday.
Police say a 20-year-old male from Brooklyn was shot and pronounced dead a short time later at a rental hall in Valley Stream.
Another victim from Brooklyn, a 17-year-old, had a hand laceration.
Three others, including a 12-year-old boy, were wounded and expected to be OK.
Following the shooting, police say the suspect fled westbound into Queens. Police are asking anyone at the party to come forward with information.
Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder says the party was advertised on social media and organizers were illegally charging admission and serving alcohol without a license.
