Police say they've arrested two people accused of holding a pair of teenage girls in captivity and forcing them into prostitution.
The ordeal lasted for about a month, according to investigators. The victims, both 16, were allegedly locked away inside 511 Lincoln Place and threatened with beatings if they tried to leave.
But one of them escaped, prosecutors say. She fled her captors and tipped off police, who arrived and arrested 21-year-old Denina Roman and 20-year-old Taymel Harris.
Both suspects face a slew of charges including sex trafficking, sexual assault, unlawful imprisonment, promoting prostitution and acting in a manner injurious to a child.
According to the criminal complaint, the suspects allegedly solicited the teens on the website Backpage.com.
They allegedly forced one of the victims to have sex with about 10 men every day.
