Police have uncovered more skeletal remains overnight along the East River in Dumbo, just two days after human remains were found at the same location.
The discovery was made near Jane's Carousel, by the rocks along the river, which is the same area where authorities discovered remains earlier this week. Investigators are now working to determine if the two sets of remains are connected.
On Monday morning, police were called to 55 Water St., where they found human remains washed up on the rocks. Witnesses reported seeing a skull, hip bone, and femur. As of now, there has been no information on the identity of the remains or the cause of death in that case.
Both the NYPD and the Medical Examiner's Office responded to the scene overnight. They are currently examining whether the newly discovered remains are human.
Dumbo residents told News 12 they are concerned about whether more discoveries will be made in the coming days.
"You don't know if it happened here, if it washed up, if someone brought it with them, and scattered it," said Raquel Tagliavia, of Dumbo.
