Police say a Brooklyn mother was arrested after stabbing her 5-month-old baby early Sunday morning.
Authorities say 29-year-old Tanika Johnson stabbed her 5-month-old baby boy in the neck inside her home at 96 East 38th St. in Flatbush at around 5 a.m. The baby was rushed to Kings County Hospital in serious condition. Johnson was also hospitalized for a self-inflicted stab wound to the leg.
The baby's grandfather is a retired police officer and Johnson's family has lived on the street for more than 20 years, police say.
Johnson has been charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
