Police: Gang member arrested in Poughkeepsie deli shooting

A 19-year-old gang member has been arrested for a shooting outside a Poughkeepsie deli on Tuesday, according to police.
Authorities say there was a verbal argument between two customers inside of the store at 551 Main St. Police say Nyzeem I. Robinson, a self-admitted gang member, then waited for the other man to leave the store before shooting him several times in the abdomen.
The 30-year-old victim was taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital where he underwent surgery and is expected to survive. Police say he is not cooperating in the investigation.
Robinson was charged attempted murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. He is being held pending arraignment and also has an outstanding warrant from a previous incident for criminal obstruction of breathing and endangering the welfare of a child.
