A gunman is on the loose after a deadly shooting in Yonkers Thursday night, police say.

Police swarmed the area in front of an apartment building at 284 Riverdale Ave. and found a 29-year-old Marquis Moniz shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers cordoned off an area of the block while investigators worked the area and spoke with neighbors.

Investigators say at this point, they believe the Moniz was targeted and that this was not a random shooting. The possible motive for the murder has not yet been released.
