Police say a lockdown has been lifted at the middle and high schools in Hastings.
School district officials tell News 12 a threat on social media necessitated the decision to close the schools and institute a two-hour delay until 10:15 a.m. "For the first 15 minutes, I was like what am I going to do so I was hiding under one of the pianos," says sophomore Olivia Seidenberg. "It was kind of traumatizing. I had to get to a classroom immediately and I was alone with two other students," says freshman Victoria Lugomer-Bonper.
Police secured and swept the building and deemed it safe and secure by 9 a.m.
Authorities say they have identified the source of threat and found the threat it was not credible.
