Police have identified the driver they say killed a 28-year-old man in a hit-and-run crash in Sheepshead Bay Friday night.
Police say 47-year-old Brian Young was driving a blue Toyota SUV or minivan when he struck Francis Perez.
Perez worked as a gas station clerk.
He had gone to a corner store to pick up some snacks and was crossing the street near Avenue V when he was struck around 8 p.m.
Family and friends have lit candles at the crash scene to honor their loved one. They say Perez left behind an 8-year-old son.
