A 28-year-old man was fatally shot Tuesday morning on the Grand Concourse, police say.
The NYPD identified the victim as Parrish Truesdale and say they found him unconscious with a gunshot wound to the head in front of 2155 Grand Concourse.
Early evidence leads them to believe that Truesdale was shot from behind around 12:30 a.m. He was taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital and was pronounced dead.
Police say Truesdale is someone they are familiar with. The person responsible is still on the loose and police have not made any arrests.
The suspect was wearing a red and black jacket with their hair in the style of dreadlocks, according to the police.
