Police have identified a woman fatally struck by an MTA bus in Sheepshead Bay.
Police say 62-year-old Eleonora Shulkina was crossing E. 17th Street around 6 p.m. yesterday. They say Shulkina had the right away when she was hit by a B36 bus making a left turn from Avenue Z.
According to officials, Shulkina suffered a head injury, and she lost consciousness. Authorities say she died at Coney Island Hospital a short while later.
The incident marks the third recent pedestrian death in an MTA bus accident.
Last month, a 41-year-old woman was fatally struck by another bus in Midwood. Also in November, a bus driver was arrested after allegedly hitting and killing a 70-year-old woman in Ocean Hill in a hit-and-run.
