Dutchess County police are warning residents about a new phone scam.
In a post on their Facebook page, police say someone is pretending to be part of the county's PBA and asking for money.
Police want you to know they never conduct fundraisers by phone, so do not trust calls like this.
They ask that you call the sheriff's office at (845) 486-3800 if you received a call from this person or if you have fallen victim to this scam.
