Police in the Bronx responding to a gunfight had to dodge bullets themselves as they chased down one of the gunman.
Police say none of the officers were hit, however, two people were seriously injured in the exchange of gunfire. Police officers responded to a shooting on 169th Street around 8 p.m. Friday. According to police, officers arrived to find three men arguing and two already wounded.
Police say one suspected gunman fled, but officers caught and arrested him. They say during the pursuit, someone else fire at them from across the street. The second gunman is still on the loose. Police are not sure if that suspect was involved in the initial dispute.
Investigators say they recovered a 9 mm gun at the scene. The two shooting victims are in critical condition at the hospital.
