A man was stabbed during an apparent altercation early Sunday morning in Crown Heights, and his distraught family is now trying to make sense of the violence.
Relatives say 24-year-old Lamel Jeffery was stabbed in front of 990 President St. Jeffery's sister says a man stabbed him in the head, neck and chest.
Police say they believe the stabbing stemmed from an argument between Jeffery, another man and a woman. The victim's sister says she was told the argument was possibly over a chair. The man and woman fled after the stabbing.
Jefferey was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he underwent five hours of surgery.
