Police are still investigating a major car crash that killed a 25-year-old off-duty NYPD officer Saturday.
Officer Garman Chen, 25, was driving his 2016 Lexus at around 2:30 a.m. when he lost control of the car near 23rd Street on the FDR Drive.
Investigators believe Chen slammed into a barrier. He was dead by the time that authorities arrived.
A 25-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, who sources say was an off-duty firefighter, were also in the car at the time.
They were both taken to Bellevue Hospital Center in critical but stable condition.
Neighbors tell News 12 that Chen lived in Kensington with his parents.
The 76th Precinct honored Chen with a bunting ceremony.
