Police looking to identify suspect in fatal shooting on Tapscott Street
The NYPD is asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect and vehicle shown in released surveillance footage linked to a shooting earlier in March.
Police say they responded to a report of a man shot at 175 Tapscott St. March 13 at around 4:30 p.m. Officers found a 30-year-old victim with a single gunshot wound to his torso in front of 187 Tapscott St.
He was transported to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim was identified as Jose Flores.
Police learned the victim was involved in a motor vehicle collision at the corner of Tapscott Street and Blake Avenue. A verbal dispute took place, and an unidentified individual displayed a firearm. Police say the victim then fled down Tapscott Street with the suspect following and allegedly shooting the victim. The male suspect returned to his car and fled the scene heading on Howard Avenue onto Eastern Parkway toward Atlantic Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue.
The vehicle is described as a light gray Infiniti Q50 with rear end damage on the passenger side.
