Authorities in Maryland arrested a man who detectives say shot at a police car in Brownsville over the summer and injured the officers inside.
Police say two groups of people were shooting at each other in Brownsville when one of the rounds struck the side of a police car, causing the window to shatter. That’s how the officer in the driver’s seat injured his arm.
Jahn-Mike Woolridge, 27 of Maryland, is one of the suspects involved, according to the NYPD. Woolridge was arrested Wednesday in Maryland after authorities say they received a tip. He has been charged with attempted murder and assault in Brooklyn.
Police say Woolridge was shooting at another car when that marked police car drove into the intersection at Pitkin Avenue and Legion Street and was struck by a bullet.
The officer who was shot managed to make a full recovery.
