Police: Man arrested for 2 attempted sexual assaults on New Year’s Eve

A suspect is facing multiple charges for two attempted sexual assaults that occurred on New Year’s Eve.
Police say Christopher Marrero grabbed a 21-year-old woman and attempted to drag her into a secluded area along 16th Street and 5th Avenue at around 10 a.m. She was able to escape and did not require medical attention.
At noon, he followed a 24-year-old woman into a bathroom around 14th Street and 5th Avenue and attempted to remove her clothes. She was also able to escape and did not require medical attention.
Police say Marrero faces charges including sex abuse, two counts of attempted sex abuse and three counts of unlawful imprisonment.
