A man was fatally shot overnight in East New York.

Police say Tjine Hemans, 33, was found by officers with a bullet in his chest on Georgia Avenue just after midnight.

He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say a firearm was recovered and a person of interest has been taken into custody.
