Police say a man was fatally struck by an ambulance early this morning in the Bronx.
They say the man was struck around 1:20 a.m. at the intersection of Dekalb Avenue and East Gun Hill Road in Norwood.
The FDNY says the ambulance was not responding to a call at the time and wasn't transporting any patients.
They say the pedestrian was given CPR at the scene and taken by a different ambulance to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities say they’re still working to identify the man, but he appears to be in his 50s.
The NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the crash with the Department of Transportation.
