Surveillance video obtained by News 12 shows the moments that led to a man opening fire in Fordham just after 2 p.m., leaving one person in critical condition.
Five mopeds pulled up to the intersection of Jerome Avenue and East 183rd Street. Those mopeds circled a parked car. The fight then turned physical.
Moments later, witnesses say they heard shots ring out.
"I heard like five shots at least... We immediately went outside but we didn't see who made the shots," one unnamed witness told News 12.
Markers covered shell casings all over Jerome Avenue. Police tags counted 10.
One person, a 29-year-old man, was shot in the neck. He was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition.
People on scene say most of the men ran toward the concourse, while others hopped into the parked car and drove off.
Witnesses say the men made it East 180th Street before seeking emergency medical attention.
Police say they are looking for the suspect described as a dark-skinned male, last seen wearing a white tank top, gray shorts and black shoes.
