The NYPD is searching for a man who was in their custody but escaped from Brookdale University Hospital in Brooklyn Wednesday morning.
Police say the 21-year-old suspect fled from police around 8:33 a.m. Police say he was not wearing shoes or a shirt and is handcuffed.
NYPD K-9 led police officers from the hospital across Linden Boulevard down Rockaway Parkway, where police turned on to Avenue B. The officers ran up and down several streets before stopping on East 93rd Street. That is where they headed back over to the hospital.
In front of the Linden Boulevard side entrance of Brookdale, officers found a shirt on the ground. It's not clear if the shirt belongs to the man who escaped their custody.
The suspect has not yet been found, and his whereabouts remain unknown at this time.
