The man responsible for a fatal stabbing in North Massapequa has died, according to police.

Police say Vincent Maiolica, 34, attacked a 29-year-old woman and a 22-year-old woman before trying to kill himself over the weekend.

One woman died from her injuries and the other is still in critical condition.

News 12 is told that Maiolica died Monday from the self-inflicted wounds.

The case is being investigated as a murder-suicide.
