A man is in critical condition after being shot in East New York Monday morning, and the person believed to be responsible is still on the loose.
Police say a 36-year-old was shot in the abdomen outside of a White Castle on Pennsylvania Avenue and the Power and Authority Evangelical Ministry along Sheffield Avenue after 8 a.m.
In the parking lot, police placed markers for six bullets near a pair of red Jordan sneakers and glasses.
Police also have a crime scene set up on Pennsylvania and Stanley avenues, where a white Ford Fusion sits in the middle of the road. They say the victim was found inside of the vehicle.
No bullet markers were seen near the vehicle, possibly meaning the victim was shot, got in the car and tried to drive himself elsewhere.
EMS crews ended up taking the victim to Brookdale Hospital.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
