Police: Man shot to death overnight in Crown Heights

Authorities say a man was killed in an overnight shooting on President Street in Crown Heights.

Authorities say a man was killed in an overnight shooting on President Street in Crown Heights.

Police say a 21-year-old man was shot in the torso around 2 a.m. and taken to New York City Health + Hospitals/Kings County where he later died.

The incident took place at an apartment building located at 1677 President St. off Utica Avenue. Officers appeared to focus their investigation on the bottom floor of the building.

Authorities were also seen removing an animal in a crate from the building, but it's not clear who the pet belongs to.

According to the NYPD, no one is in custody and a motive was not immediately clear. The identity of the victim has not been revealed at this time.
